I first heared of BLACKBERRY when I applied for a position in an oil firm recently. I never knew what it was all about, so I went to google and found out. Its really facinating and would be a big hit if/when it really floods this place, and like LUMI above said, it might really be expensive, but I guess that will be at the initial stage as all Nigerian markets go, but then it will determine who leads the GSM pack here. I wonder too, why MTN and Co doesnt want to go for it here. We have the market (population wise).... I wonder....DIPO if you have more info let me have it.... am really interested. THANKS AND GOD BLESS

    DT,
I've heard about and loved Blackberry now for ages. If it were available in Nigeria today, you'd bet I'd have one (assuming of course that the pricing for the service is not cut-throat).

The funny thing is that MTN and Vodacom support Blackberry in SA, why doesn't MTN do that here in Nigeria. The scare for me is that even if they bring it in, the cost of using it would be prohibitive. If it isn't, it could be a major determining factor as to who owns the biggest share of the GSM cake in Nigeria.

One other thing I'd love to see is Number Portability, where I can ditch my current provider for another that is offering better servies and still keep my number as opposed to having to buy a new SIM pack and getting all my contacts to call me on the new number.

    Just my 20 kobo worth
