My 4-month old Dami is sitting down very comfortable at the moment but she is quite restless with just sitting down; she wants to start walking. Isn’t that just too cool but this particular process defies human logic that defines the growth process of a baby as sitting, then crawling before walking. This is the phases that we are expected to pass through but my dear Dami is teaching me something else about changing levels; you really don’t have to be conditioned to the normal process of development, you can visualize what you want to become (not conditioning your mind to the defined process) and you would become what you visualize in your mind.
I have been wondering why a 5-month old baby wants to walk instead of craw then I discovered something that blew my mind; all the people she sees are walking and she is wondering why she can’t walk like them. This is how we are expected to change from one level to another; we are expected to visualize where we want to get to; let the image of that level permeate our mind that it becomes physical in our minds, and then entering that level would be so easy notwithstanding the normal process to get there. This has been proven times without number in my life and I have been wondering why I never shared it.
ÂÂ
When I was unemployed by a company and I needed employment; I started visualizing myself as an employed personnel. I did things that employed people do like looking for job for the unemployed, etc and guess what? I was employed that same month. When I wanted to move from the level of being a Call Center Agent to being a Business Development Specialist; I started reading books on Business Development as it relates to where I was going to and before long an opportunity was opened that was not even for my level (the vacancy was for a level higher than mine) and I aced the job. I remember the interview very fondly with the Director in charge of the department, he did not even look at my CV to check if I was qualified or not; he was simply mesmerized by my knowledge in that field.
All said, if you are very tired of the level you are right now, you have to be tired of the way you are thinking by visualizing on the new level you want to attain, then the opportunity would definitely come your way. The story of Jacob and Laban readily comes to mind on how spotless cattle gave birth to spotted by visualizing the cattle to spotted plank. This is the way to get out of the level you do not like; you have to change that mindset very consciously. You have to tell yourself that the mind at which you are operating now would not take me to the next level. You have to consciously look at the next level you want, hang around with people in that level, do what they do and you would be surprised at where God would take you to.
ÂÂ
I am not talking about positive thinking because positive thinking does not allow you to acknowledge the level you are in. The difference between this thinking and positive thinking is subject to God’s way of thinking which simply means all things work together for good. For example, a guy wants a better job than the one he is currently holding for whatever reason- finances, more challenging, etc. Let me use typical example, the guy wants to move from the bank to the oil producing company. He starts getting resources about the places he is going to, he sees himself already there, he reads concerning the role he is interested in and starts looking out for vacancies pertained to that role. As his mind changes, his behaviour changes because he sees himself closing by 4.00p.m not 8.00p.m and very soon he sees his long hours of work as a waste of human life.
ÂÂ
Before long, he gets sacked or asked to resign. He doesn’t get bitter and start wishing he had the bank job; He braces himelf, thank God and continue his aim of looking for an oil company job. He notes the level he is in (unlike positive thinking) and know that all things, even his forced resignation is working together for his good. Before long, he would get that call (the call always comes). This is where your preparation always meets your opportunity. He gets the oil company job and people starts saying how lucky he was; they don’t see the process he had to go through, they only see the end result and call him lucky.
ÂÂ
As a film buff whenever I want to change my level; I look for films that encourage me in my preferred level. There was a particular time I wanted to change my level; I bought films on Prison scenarios like Shawshank Redemption and Rock and I start reading the bible and meditating on Joseph in the prison. Just yesterday, because I wanted to change my present level; I bought the DVD ‫ Prison Break, Seasons 1 and 2. I start reading autobiographies of people who have made impact in their field and look for their common thread of success. When I read the autobiography of R. Kelly, P. Diddy, Tom Cruise, Arnold Schwazenegger and Bill Gates, I observed that the common denominator is FOCUS. They were all focus at what they wanted, they were not doing two things at the same time; they took on one thing focused on it and succeeded before moving to another. This was an eye opener to me.
ÂÂ
As you can see I have a lot to thank God for; He used my baby girl to teach me how to move from one level to another. He taught me how to recognize what he has given me that I may have counted as irrelevant. God has always been my best teacher and he is still teaching me. Sunday, the 10th is my wedding anniversary and I have a lot to thank God.
Ciao.

Dipo,
Happy Anniversary in advance. May the Lord continue to uphold your home and satisfy your mouth with good things. Amen
It's incredible how everywhere I look these days I'm picking up just the things I need. I think it was 'Deolu's post on RAS that sparked it all off. This is so timely.
On my way to work this morning, I was ruminating over the same things and it's incredible that you've expressed it fully.
As you know, I bit the bullet, you wanted to know why, well, here's a brief intro, hopefully we'll catch up this weekend and you can grill me all you want.
Cheers.

Hello Dipo,
I have really enjoyed this write, how inspiring and revealing it is...God bless you brother for releasing yourself to be taught of God. The truth is attaining a high level in this life of ours requires focusing on the new level, walking by faith and wait for the opportunity to manifest in that capacity.
Just like you daughter, my son started a similar exploration....walking instead of crawling...I was surprised but I have come to learn that, when we see NO limitation in the path of achieving our goals, we would surely get there....babies dont see any limitation...I think we all have a lot to learn from these lot.
Happy Married Life in Advance brother.....Cheers

I really enjoyed your right up. it kind reminds me of the sermon of the dreamer and the doer. The dreamer does nothing but dream, and obvioulsy nothing became of it (he lived in his fantasy), the doer also did alot, and nothing really came of it, casue even though he had action he had no faith or believe in God. We need to have both but in God. To have vision and run with it with faith in God.
I have been blessed. I just need to ask God to give me a vision to work with.

Hey Dipo, what is your take on dejavu, is there any spiriutal definition to it? can one have as many in a day?? just curious cos i cant seem to get any reasonable scientific explaination to the phenomenon

@ Jane
Your question is very subtle and should approached in a careful manner.
Similar words that can be used in the place of Poor are Underpriveledged, Unfortunate, Pitiable, etc. I have come to understand that being Poor is a thing of the mind. (Please, dont kill me yet o)
I know that most times when you say someone is poor, it means the person is without financial means but the definition in itself is flawed.
When I used to work in the bank I have seen folks with large amount of money but look pitiable and underprivedged and I have seen folks with little or nothing looking very good.
Most people we regard as rich (opposite of poor) are debtors but are still viewed as very wealthy. From the car they drive to the house they live in are all leased to them using a source of security to obtain this lease but this people would always get more money when dealing with people.
This is why life is based on how one brands oneself not necessarily on the financial capacity of the person.
So you see, your question is quite subtle; so poverty is of the mind, that is why when a mind flourishes, the physical appearance of the man would also flourish.
Hope I was helpful? As per the bus thing, you cant allow someone's definition to affect your judgement. Most times when going for lunch, I take Okada because of convenience (traffic, parking slot, etc) and numerous other reasons despite the fact that I have a car.......

thank God for giving you a wonderful married life. Many had taken the marital vows like you did but have broken it so soon.I want to say that living a life of Focus is the first way to success. Many people are so talented but the problem is that we don't look inwards. We are just okay with having 1/2 Tokunbo car(s), living in a 2/3 bedroon self contain apartment , sending our children to a private school in the neighourhood. Your success lies in «the doing» and not just «the thinking».That thing in your mind that you are scared of taking just one step have been thought about by somebody but it is the first person to bring it to reality that is celebrated. Wake up that giant in you and don't die a poor man. I entered a public bus one day and somebody said we are all poor in the bus. And i said am not poor. And he said If you are not poor you will not be in this bus. Dipo please what is the definition of poor?
