There seem to be strong anticipation by groups of people especially the christians concerning the year; almost and if not everything is based on it. This is when Pastors get vision for the new year and give prophetic inclinations to the future they term “New Year”. prophetic utterances are proclaimed “My Year of Abundance”, “My Year of Fulfilled Dreams”, “My Year of Take the Limits Off”, etc. i begin to get concerned about all this sheninigans concerning what some group of men call New Year.
Â
Do people really take stock of their lives and see if this particular prophesy is fulfilled because it belongs to that particular year? Are people really concerned about their lives or they just hope that everything would magically work out for them? If someone says this is your year of prosperity; do you actually work on it to make it as it was proclaimed to you? Do you actually exist on earth or you have a purpose? Do you actually follow the seasons of God in your life to know when a new day has dawned or you are just following the herds proclaiming a new year.
Â
It’s a new year (blablablabla)
Whats the difference between 31st Dec 2006 and 1st Jan 2007? Absolutely nothing!
Just a numerical data enforced on us by some group of men and we call it new year.
In God, its a different thing entirely, its all about seasons and season differs depending on God’s programme in your life. March 7th which is my birthday may be a new year to me, Dec 31st may be a new year depending on God’s programme for your life.
We have been stifled by all this men-imposed calculations of the earth revolving round the sun and calling it a year, moon revolving round the earth and calling it a month and earth spinning on it’s axis and calling it a day. These are one of the greatest inhibition of Men which affects the general psyche of a believer.
There is nothing new about Jan 1st, just a day like any other. Lets relax and try to figure the seasons of the Kingdom of God in our lives then I believe all this men-imposed dates would then have meaning until then……………..

It’s true that God looks at seasons and not human-detected dates, but search carefully and don’t be blinded by ur statements…this new year may be ur own season for a rejuvenation so don’t just rule it out cos of the so-called ‘grp of conniving men agenda.’ Also, regardless of what prophesies have gone forth, you can go directly to God urself and ask Him for your own special insight to the new year, you don’t have to go along with awon pastors and co. What has God said to YOU? Gone are the days when people depended on prophets…when Jesus died the curtain of the temple was torn into two giving each of us direct access to God…

I for one would say when the Prophetic words were spoken for the year of 2006 I took hold of them and claimed them for my life. Towards the end of my 2006 I did an audit and thaked God for the Word I claimed that He had spoken was brought to pass in my lIfe. So this 2007 which have already entered a while ago – hehe – I have taken hold of His words for me this year and I believe that He will bring them to pass. Just as He did before. He is not about to start letting me down. he hasnt done that before. So this 2007 – I am taking the limits off God – its the year of the 7 – a year of promotion – correct flourishing – elevation to different dimentions – both in my Spiritual Growth and Physical growth – This year He will promote me in every area of my life – a year of acceptance no longer rejection. A year of the Lord indeed. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

really Jan 1 is just like any other day but its the beginning of another year i cannot say “new’ as its not really new for some but ‘bad’. Tome its a day to take stock of the pat year and think of how to improve things, let go some and embrace some. I believe there are different timings kairos, Chronos and spirit time. Gods season is definetely better. So lets still celebrate Jan 1 atleast it has really changed so many peoples lives through their resolutions.
