THE EXPERIENCE

When This Day Newspaper came up with their Music Festival importing artists from the United States to grace our humble stages in Nigeria, it was regarded as an unprecedented act though it was received with mixed feelings. The high point of the events was not the caliber of first rated musicians from Beyonce, Jay-Z, P.Diddy, Snoop Dog, etc, it was the Hundred Thousand naira ticket that was charged at the gate. Nigerians shook the world again by filling up the hall with a charge of about 800 USD (wow, just to watch a show!)

Anyway, after the first successful show by This Day Newspaper, the second show was not as successful as the first though the halls were filled; they were reports of artist fainting, etc.

Now the Christians in Nigeria championed by House on The Rock Ministry decided to do almost the same thing but with first rated Christian Musicians from Kurt Carr, Don Moen, Cece Winans, Lionel Peterson, Marvin Winans, Tye Tribbett, Israel Houghton to our local Christian Musician like Mike Aremu. Bishop T.D. Jakes is also gracing the occasion. This would definitely rock Nigeria and the great thing about this event is that it is absolutely FREE. There is also promise of security to prevent touts and event sharks. The event was tagged “The Experience” and this is the second show following a successful hosting of the first show.

There is absolutely nothing wise about throwing the baby with the bad water away but this happens to be the mainstream. The House on The Rock Ministry must be commended for such great act of wisdom in spreading the gospel of the Kingdom. While there would still be critics, this is definitely a land mark event in Nigeria. Why am I into “The Experience” so much? First of all, I may not be able to attend because the event matches with my father-in-law burial functions but I would get the DVD. When I think about wisdom exemplified by Jesus, I am always in awe. The ability to use perceived ill-valued platform to promote the gospel is wisdom to the infinite. There was a time Christians condemned television and another time they condemned fashion but were they effective?

Whenever Christians condemn platform they do not understand, I seriously get wary and the same Christians finally accept the platform. Why do they immediately criticize anything they have not even experienced? When This Day was being criticized for hosting varieties of First Rated Musician, someone was seeing how he could use it to benefit the Kingdom and “The Experience” was born. There have been many tools of communication the Christians have avoided because they are perceived as “worldly” material. I wonder when Christians would rise up and live their destinies. Please, kindly support “The Experience” by availing your presence:

I have been seeing “The Experience” banners on some brigdes in PH but was unable to really figure out whts on it not until i logged onto the sunnewsonline this morning that i got the full gist.
Being a lover of music and passionate one for that matter though not that good at it ATM, i would have loved to be there more considering some of my fovarite musicians (T.D. Jakes)on the list.

Although i make bold to say that i am a conservative christian, i am not that critical and judgemental of such events so long as their organisers will seize such opportunities to really reachout to souls with the saving gospel of Christ or else they will be nothing but just social events.

When our Praises go up, HIS presence comes down.
    When we worship, HE works.

I commend the organisers of this event and pray it surpasses everyone’s imagination and expectations.

I wasn’t at last years’ experience, my friends said so much about it that I can’t wait to be in the show tonight. There are so many people that have prayed and have not received answers for their prayers. To them I’ll say why not try praise. God is Going to do great things in this show. Its time for me to praise cos when praises abound his glory will descend.
    Don’t miss it.

It was really an interesting time out there last night till this morning. Over 250,000
individuals with varied background converge on TBS for a night of worship, praise
and thanksgiving. This attendance surpass last year’s almost 3 times. I really enjoyed
myself. It’s the dawn of a new day in my life. Watch out!!
