As the year approaches its climax, I started reviewing all my investments from fixed deposits, HYIPs, MLMs, Shares in NSE, imported goods, direct investments in small business, properties, Insurance, Third Party Forex Management and well, I am hoping to invest in mutual funds but I am still skeptical about this vehicle of investment. The one that made me absolutely flabbergasted was the ecash-invest (Third Party Forex Management); though I had never profited from online HYIPs, I preferred them to ecash-invest because ecash is simply fueling my hopes while HYIPs immediately wakes me up from my slumber. One must carefully read the patterns;

October returns was 2.66%, November returns is 2.55%; I dont think I want to wait for December returns. When I compared my returns in Fixed Deposit which I consider a very slow plan with ecash, I wonder why I had to place my hard-earned money in ecash considering the fact that the company places a strong caveat on its home page telling us we are investing at risk. How can they call it risky and give such dilapidated reports. Then comes the annoying divestment process which takes 1 month for them to start the process that takes 14 days to complete. Are these people for real? Okay I decided to place myself in the shoes of the servant that hid his talent in the parable of the talent (please, read Mathew 25). The guy was called wicked by his master for hiding his talent and the master suggested an alternative to his lazy attitude «Why not place it in the bank and it would have yielded interest?» What I projected the master was trying to say was that if you are scared of risking my talent, why not put it in a safe place that yields interest.

I do not consider ecash as safe in that regards because if they decide to fold up, I dont think I can touch them. There is definitely no insurance nor are they in Nigeria (not that the geographical location matters in getting your money). To top it up, they now placed a caveat on the risk nature of the investment. I can not wait to divest my money from ecash because they claim it is risky and the returns are pitiful; immagine a return of an average 3% per month, it would take about 35 months to get my money doubled on a risky venture.

In the light of this, I sought a safe online investment that would produce a reasonable return and I was very happy to find one. In order to prove its authenticity, I would have to travel to verify its listing in its country Stock Market and meet the actors of the companies. This I would conclude in January and as always be willing to share it with my faithful readers. 2008 would definitely put smiles to a lot of investors face armed with the lessons of our local HYIPs. In 2008, I believe we have all learnt from 2007 episodes and are willing to lean to safer and better investment vehicles.
