    SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF

Average time to read5:35 minutes aprox.

Ok, this is the continuation of last week post (The Reason People Don’t Succeed) where I dwelt on the importance of belief and how vital it was to succeeding. I actually drew my inspiration from Mark 9 about the story of a boy who could not be healed by the disciples of Jesus. The disciples later found out that despite their initial passion to heal the boy, they failed because they needed a different strategy from what they were used to. I pointed to the fact that their inability to find out what this winning strategy was is a reflection of their belief system. Pure belief would find the right way no matter the consistent failure, pressure and overwhelming circumstance(s)...

    The Reason People Don’t Succeed

Average time to read7:16 minutes aprox.

“All things are possible to them that believe” ‫ Mark 9: 23 I would like to start by tweaking the title of this post to “The Reason I don’t Succeed”. After experiencing a memorable “JOBFinder’s” Seminar in Ibadan this weekend (check the picture above), I kept isolating my successes from my failures and wondering which integrated elements are responsible for the individual outcomes. I realized that my “Potential” is constant despite my failures or my successes so the problem of failure has nothing to do with my potential. What about the “Actions” I take in order to succeed? “Actions” could be a combination of strategy and tactics. After much thought, I came to the conclusion that...

    The NEXT Big Move

Average time to read4:12 minutes aprox.

Over the weekend, one of the readers of this blog came over to my domain to collect the Armani Wrist Watch he won for being the best commentator for the first quarter of this year. Since, I did not give anything to the best commentator for the second quarter, I have decided to combine the second and third quarter and give out something massive to the winner. I hope it won’t be Emeka again because he seems to continue winning my gifts. Every financial move that has ever existed comes with its casualties; the casualties are always the laggards who prefer to spectate during the initial process and wait to see the result of those who are participating...

    Writing A Bizness Plan

Average time to read4:20 minutes aprox.

“You’ve got to be careful if you don’t know where you’re going because you might not get there.” ※Yogi Berra I got a call two weeks ago to present a business plan to a cooperative interested in setting up a grocery shop. I immediately buried myself into research and came out with a conservative plan to create a successful modernize 250 square meter retail outfit in a conservative location. It was not even the share work of developing this plan that shocked me but the vibe I picked up during the actual presentation ‫ its one thing to create a plan and it’s another thing to interpret it. If you really did not get my earlier statement...

    The Rock

Average time to read5:03 minutes aprox.

The picture above is one of the most popular sites to visit in San Francisco, USA but from 1934 to 1963; it housed the most dangerous prisoners in the United States. This particular house was built on a rock which makes it impervious to criminal escape. The records claimed that nobody has ever escaped this prison alive but there were rumors of several attempts and some Hollywood films suggest some possible escape from this fortress. Alcatraz is the name of this site and it is popular called The Rock. Every time, I look at this picture, my mind immediately conjures up the words of Jesus about a house built on the rock. Jesus vouched that this house...

    My Second Wife

Average time to read3:31 minutes aprox.

I have been thinking seriously about having a second wife especially after God has blessed me with a successful marriage. I remember the words of a lady friend that dispel my cold feet towards my wedding; «A good wife is a life time asset». Well, she was a trained accountant, so using such parlance to describe her opinion on the issue of marriage did not seem offensive to the other ladies who were gathered with us. After some years of marriage and thinking through her statement, I seem to disagree with her choice of words: A good wife can also be a life time liability if (a big IF) not treated right. The reality is that there is no...
